ASSISTANCE
You will find in the property an information
pack, this will give you an idea of local activities,
Community rules and Regulations, and important telephone
numbers in case of emergencies. As you will have chosen
a self catering holiday we understand that you will
want to enjoy your own type of holiday. It must be highlighted
we are not a tour operator and therefore we do not have
agents or representatives that attend to you throughout
your vacation. All of our properties are of a high standard
and therefore rarely have problems, in the unlikely
event of a fault please let the owner know as soon as
possible.
BREAKAGES
We ask for a refundable security deposit of £150
on booking your rental property. This is for repairs
that may be required following your stay in the property.
The owner will inspect their property prior to your
arrival and on your departure and, in the event of any
damages, they will contact you and inform you of the
charge that will be deducted from your security deposit.
Alternatively you can replace the item yourself if you
have time, i.e. plate, mug etc….
ELECTRICITY
Spain has a 220v electric current, we advise you to
bring a travel adaptor plug as continental plug sockets
have two pins and not three. Torch’s are also
advisable, these can be bought over here, although not
essential they can be quite handy in case of a power
cut, which sometimes does happen when there is a power
surge, the pathways in certain areas are also poorly
lit, a torch does come in useful on these occasions.
LOST PROPERTY
Please look after your property as you would do at home,
the owner of the rental property is not responsible
for lost items. However if you do leave something of
value behind and inform the owner, they can, for a small
charge of post & packaging ensure that this is returned
to you.
TELEPHONE LINES
Our properties do not have land lines, however public
telephones can be found within walking distance, we
do advise that you can if where possible bring your
mobile with you, please note that although this is very
convenient it will cost you also to answer any telephone
calls.
SAFETY ON HOLIDAY
• Please read the manual given in your property,
which highlights any emergency numbers that may be needed.
• The Costa Blanca is a safe place, however in
order to prevent the opportunist theft please make sure
that on leaving the property that all doors & windows
are securely locked, if you are on the sun roof it is
also advisable not to leave valuables lying around,
although this is rare it is important that you are aware
that an opportunity if seen may be taken.
Kitchen Area
• If the property has gas appliances please ensure
that the gas has been turned off, Spain does not have
mains gas so it is supplied from bottles, each bottle
has instructions how to turn on and off, please follow
these.
• Once you have finished with food please put
back and wipe away any crumbs as this can attract unwanted
insects (such as ants), please also dispose of your
rubbish daily in the community bins provided.
Pool Area
• As you will know all pool side areas are slippery
when wet, even non-slip tiles that are often used can
be, please take care and never run.
• If your property has a community pool please
follow the rules, which are displayed clearly, you are
liable for your own actions and therefore it is within
your best interest to follow the guidelines given, if
the pool is private please use your common sense to
try and ensure no accidents happen, these can be limited
if you follow simple rules such as…
- Do not enter the swimming pool whilst under the influence
of drink.
- Do not swim immediately after you have eaten or drank
something
- Ensure that you know where the shallow and deep ends
are.
Food & Drink
Whilst we always encourage our guests to be adventurous
with their food, and for you to try the local dishes
it is always advisable to bring medicine for upset stomachs
in case any new foods do not agree with you. The Costa
Blanca is quite developed now and therefore hygiene
standards are greatly improved to what they used to
be, however please note that the water from the taps
is drinkable but NOT advised, bottled water is cheap
and a better option to avoid an upset stomach, the ice
now served in bars and restaurants is perfectly o.k.
as they are delivered especially.
Insects
Spain is a hot country and therefore does have insect
found in hot climates, such as mosquito’s, if
bitten the best remedy is lemon juice, not only is this
a cheap way of soothing the itch, but you will also
smell good. However to avoid being bitten at all please
ensure that you either bring or buy insect repellant,
although the insects are not poisonous bites can cause
a lot of irritation and discomfort and if not treated
correctly can become infected. There are other insects
around but none are there to harm you, so please do
not harm them.
SATELLITE
All of the properties do have U.K television, this is
provided through a digital system, although this is
not an important factor of a holiday abroad it is an
added bonus. In respect to this we cannot be held liable
if for any reason the digital system incurs a fault,
and assure you that those responsible will resolve the
problem as quickly as they can.
POOL MAINTENANCE
Community pools are maintained on a regular basis and
are usually cleaned early in the morning to avoid disturbing
the publics use, however if your property has a private
pool this will be cleaned by an outside rep and can
be cleaned at any point during the day please respect
the fact that they have a job to do and ensure that
you vacate the pool whilst it is being cleaned, and
if necessary stay out of the pool until the tablets
have dissipated.
